1. Who We Are

This website is a marketing page for Chrono, our event-operations product for sim racing venues. It does not offer user accounts, uploads, or downloadable applications — it is limited to informational content and a way to get in touch with us.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), we are the controller of the personal data we process in connection with this website.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect and process personal data only where necessary to operate, secure, and improve this website.

2.1 Technical and Security Data

When you visit our website, your browser automatically sends information to our server, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device and operating system information
  • Date and time of access
  • Referrer information
  • Server and error logs

This data is used to establish a connection to the website, ensure its security and stability, and investigate any unlawful attacks if necessary. It is temporarily stored in a log file and automatically deleted after a limited period. We cannot directly identify you from this data alone.

2.2 Analytics Data

We use PostHog Cloud EU for analytics on our website. Analytics help us understand how visitors interact with the site and improve its usability and content.

Depending on your consent choice, analytics data may include:

  • Approximate technical information about your browser and device
  • Session or event identifiers

We show a consent banner when you first visit the site. Analytics are only activated if you accept, and no analytics data is collected before you make a choice. You may withdraw your consent at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.

We do not use analytics to sell personal data and do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.

2.3 Contact Data

If you contact us via our contact form, by email (office@pitpath.net), or phone (+49 173 3016379), we process the personal data you provide. The contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address and subject as required fields, and optionally your company, plus a message describing your setup. Submissions are processed by our backend at api.pitpath.net and are protected against automated spam using Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process your IP address and device signals to verify you are human. We use this data solely to respond to and process your inquiry.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): technical/security logs, to ensure the security and stable operation of the website.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): analytics via PostHog, which we only activate after you accept our consent banner. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Legitimate interests / pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(f)/(b) GDPR): processing data you send us via email or phone to respond to your inquiry.

4. Data Sharing and Processors

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share personal data with service providers and processors that help us operate this website, including:

  • Cloudflare (website hosting through Workers Static Assets)
  • PostHog Cloud EU (analytics, where you have given consent)
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile spam protection on our contact form)
  • Email delivery providers

Where required, we enter into data processing agreements with our hosting and analytics providers. We may also disclose personal data where required to comply with law, enforce our rights, or defend against legal claims.

5. International Data Transfers

We aim to store and process personal data within the European Union or the European Economic Area where possible. We use PostHog Cloud EU for analytics, which processes data within the EU. Where personal data is nonetheless transferred outside the EU or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

6. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transmission using HTTPS/TLS, access controls, and regular review of our security measures. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  • Technical/security logs: retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained according to PostHog Cloud EU's standard retention settings, for as long as your consent remains valid.
  • Contact inquiries: retained only until your inquiry has been resolved, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions and limits under applicable law, you have the following rights:

We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within the time limits required by applicable law.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use local storage to remember your analytics consent choice. If you accept analytics, PostHog may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish sessions and visitors. No non-essential cookies or tracking technologies are used before you give consent.

10. Children

This website is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
